Council approves slate of board and commission appointments effective Jan. 1, 2026

Monroe City Council on Dec. 9 approved recommendations from the Citizens Appointment Committee for appointments and reappointments across multiple boards and commissions, with most terms effective Jan. 1, 2026.

Mayor Pro Tem Anthony presented the committee's recommendations and read multiple names and term dates for boards including the ABC Board, Airport Advisory Commission, Animal Welfare Committee, Board of Adjustment, Economic Development Advisory Board, and the Monroe Housing Authority. Notable recommended appointments included Henry Ligon Bundy (ABC Board), Gary Roderick (ABC Board service chair), Andrew Erde (Airport Advisory Commission), Bob Janacek (Animal Welfare Committee chair), Jennifer Loria (Animal Welfare Committee vice chair), Matthew Kegel (Board of Adjustment alternate to full member), and several recommended members and officers for the Economic Development Advisory Board such as Randy Adcock, Jeff Duke, Jonathan Edwards, Chad Griffin, Drew Large, and Eric Pascalski. The committee also recommended Dr. Stacy Walters Beatty and Clayton Whiston as ex officio members for the Economic Development Advisory Board and recommended Monique (Hope/Holt) for reappointment to the Monroe Housing Authority through Dec. 31, 2030.
