Commissioners recognized Savannah Moore as employee of the fourth quarter and named Lynn Loomis employee of the year, announced six Ozark-area library board applicants with interviews to be scheduled, and said the county newsletter will debut Jan. 5.
At its final meeting of the year the Christian County Commission recognized two county employees and announced several administrative items for January.
Presiding officer read nominations and named Savannah Moore as the county’s employee of the fourth quarter, praising her leadership of the Bills team. The commission also selected Lynn Loomis as the 2025 employee of the year, citing 23 years of county service and repeated quarterly nominations; a photo session and presentation of plaques were arranged for follow-up, and Assessor Burns called to offer congratulations but was reported ill.
On appointments, commissioners said the Ozark-area library board application period closed with six applicants. Staff (Miss Brenda) will call the applicants and the commission expects to interview candidates next week and announce the selection at the Jan. 15 meeting. Commissioners said they will next review names from resource management to fill planning and zoning board vacancies.
Commissioners also announced county offices will be closed Thursday, Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day). The county plans to publish its first newsletter on Jan. 5 and then every other month; residents who wish to receive it were asked to supply an email address to county staff. The presiding officer again encouraged residents to use the county’s transparency portal to review proposed budgets and contact commissioners with questions.
The meeting concluded with adjournment after routine business.
