Council considered development application 925-5-SUB (Ashbury Court) on Dec. 9. Planning staff said applicants requested preliminary and final subdivision approval to subdivide five properties and dedicate a 33-foot right-of-way to the municipality. The parcels were identified by address and tax parcel numbers (432 Bay Hill Drive, 434 Ashbury Court, 438 Ashbury Court, 440 Ashbury Court, 442 Ashbury Court).
The planning commission recommended approval, but council members moved to table one related item (item 9) until the companion item (item 10) is prepared; that motion passed. Council then approved a separate motion to advertise an ordinance to accept Ashbury Courts right-of-way, which is the advertisement for the ordinance only; the ordinance connected to the subdivision will return to council for decision in January.
Planning presenter explained the advertisement was procedural: “Just the advertisement for the ordinance, but the ordinance would be connected to the subdivision for council to decide in January,” and the council voted to advertise. No final subdivision approval was granted at the meeting; the subdivision item remains tabled pending preparation and coordination with the related ordinance.
Next steps: staff will prepare the ordinance linked to the subdivision for January consideration and the council will revisit the subdivision application when both items are ready.
