Wichita County Commissioners used part of their Dec. 30 session to recognize county staff.

Margaret Sutton, identified in the record as an accounts-payable manager in the auditor's office, received the county's employee-of-the-month award for October 2025. Commissioners and colleagues praised Sutton’s long service, institutional knowledge and role in keeping county accounting accurate.

Commissioner Beauchamp also recognized Jason Makepeace, a veteran services officer, for being featured by the Texas Veterans Commission. Speakers commended the veteran-services office's culture shift toward customer service and noted that the office has received statewide and national recognition for its work assisting veterans.

A commissioner introduced his administrative assistant, Alyssa, to the court as a short-term visitor to observe court proceedings.

No formal action was taken on recognition items beyond presentation and thanks.
