Griggs County commissioners approved the county’s year‑end bills at a special meeting Dec. 30, 2025, after staff identified and said they would fix an accounting error that briefly charged a pickup purchase to a burial‑assistance account.
The board opened the meeting, recited the Pledge of Allegiance and took up a short agenda consisting primarily of final invoices for the year. A motion to approve the agenda passed by voice vote.
During a review of invoices, county staff member Sam pointed out that a pickup from Christian Chrysler had been coded to the burial‑assistance account. Sam said the coding was incorrect and that the charge would be moved to the sheriff’s vehicle account. "But it's coming out of burial assistance. That's not right. I must have gotten the account number, but I'll get that out of the sheriff's vehicle," Sam said.
A commissioner then moved to approve the invoices with the correction to the account number; the motion was seconded. In a subsequent voice vote commissioners recorded ayes and the motion passed. The board also approved an earlier procedural motion to adopt the agenda.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that carried on a voice vote. The board confirmed its next meeting for Jan. 5 at 9:30 a.m.; the meeting adjourned at about 9:36 a.m.
The meeting record does not show any dissenting votes or recorded abstentions on the year‑end bills; the transcript reflects affirmative voice votes and the chair’s announcement that the motions were carried.
