Lassen County approves public-health staffing reallocation, estimating $17,300 in savings

The Lassen County Board of Supervisors approved a personnel change in the public-health department that unfunds a program manager position and funds an additional administrative manager position, a move county staff said will save approximately $17,300 in starting salary costs.
Danielle Sanchez, the HHS assistant director and personnel coordinator, told the board the change reflects the new public-health director’s organizational needs and that an existing list of eligible applicants could fill the newly funded administrative manager post quickly. "In analyzing the cost savings, it looks like it would be a savings of about $17,300 approximately in the starting range for the change in positions," Sanchez said.
Public-health Director Natalie Rooter described the administrative manager’s role as providing supervisory and higher-level administrative functions for family engagement programs and home-visiting services, including state reporting and "reflective supervision" required by those programs.
Supervisor Angdon moved the staffing change; Supervisor Scanlon seconded, and the board approved the motion by voice vote. County staff said the change draws on an existing eligibility list and can be implemented promptly.
