Road and Bridge staff reported the dozer has roughly 1,300 hours on it and discussed undercarriage lifecycle and expected hours of operation for different machine classes. Commissioners asked about funding sources; staff indicated the purchase can be covered from available general fund balances and escrowed road funds. One commissioner moved to exercise purchase at the end of the lease and convert financing to an outright acquisition; the motion was seconded and approved on voice vote.
Directives included tracking where the purchase funds will be drawn from (general fund vs road escrow) and documenting the purchase to ensure future maintenance and potential resale value are clear to staff and auditors.
