Patricia Petrovsky was sworn in as Lee County’s District 5 commissioner during a brief ceremony in which she recited the statutory oath of office and pledged to support the U.S. and Florida constitutions.

“I, Patricia Petrovsky, do solemnly swear ... that I will support, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and of the state of Florida ... and that I will well and faithfully perform the duties of commissioner for Lee County,” Petrovsky said, concluding the oath with “So help me God.”

The swearing-in was followed by brief remarks of congratulations from board members. A board member asked that the chair welcome the new commissioner, and the chair responded, addressing her as “Patricia Petrolski.” The record contains that single variant spelling; the sworn statement and multiple earlier segments identify the official as Patricia Petrovsky.
