Fremont County commissioners approve a slate of appointments and reappointments to local advisory boards

Reappointments approved by roll call included John Daniels to the Fremont County Fair Board (term expiring 12/31/2028); Paul Garrett to the Fremont County Weed Advisory Board (term expiring 12/31/2028); and Gina Gall to the Fremont County Livestock Sale Committee (term expiring 12/31/2028).
The board also approved new appointments: Mark Klingensmith to the Fremont County Airport Advisory Board (term expiring 10/01/2028); Mary Bergman to the Fremont County 4-H Livestock Sale Committee (term expiring 10/01/2028); Brad Appel to the Fremont County Tourism Council (term beginning 01/01/2026 and ending 12/31/2028); and Barbara Smith to the Tourism Council (term beginning 01/01/2026 and ending 12/31/2028). Commissioners noted several appointees already live in Cañon City and have relevant experience, and they encouraged residents to apply for open board positions via the county website.
All appointment motions were moved, seconded and carried by roll-call votes. The appointments are administrative and do not, in themselves, create immediate budgetary commitments.
