The Indian River County Board of County Commissioners on Nov. 4 approved a three-year renewal of the county administrator's employment agreement after more than three hours of discussion and public comment.
County Administrator John Katanich told commissioners the renewal would not include a salary increase and highlighted organizational gains under his tenure, saying, "I'm deeply committed to Indian River County." The draft contract adds previously discussed deferred-compensation language, an extra year of vacation accrual and a provision for an annual performance review to be completed and discussed publicly by the board.
