The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors approved two infrastructure actions and heard a related grant update.
County engineer staff recommended awarding project LFM690--7X--30 (A43 bridge, also referenced as Winterbourne Bridal and Road 260th Street) to Christiansen Brothers of Cherokee, Iowa, for $1,022,356.20; the board moved to approve the contract and report bond and contract documents will follow. The agenda item included a brief construction notice that the named road would remain closed during work.
Separately, the board approved pay application No. 6 for the Lake County Connection Trail in the amount of $30,976.95. Project staff said the trail is substantially complete but that the county is retaining $27,800 until the DOT audit is complete; staff estimated the audit and final retainage release would occur next year.
Staff also reported Clay County secured a $295,000 state recreational trail grant for a final 'last mile' phase that could help link the two projects next year. The board recorded unanimous votes on the contract award and the pay application.
