Dickinson County awards $88,300 contract for District 19 open-ditch repairs

The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors voted to award a contract to Corey Jurgens Construction for $88,300 to perform main open‑ditch repairs in District 19, after consultants from ISG said the single bid matched the county's engineer estimate.

Spencer Peck of ISG introduced the item and Eric Sebenaler of ISG presented project details, saying the county solicited quotes on Dec. 5 from seven contractors and received one bid by the Dec. 18 deadline. Sebenaler said the work consists of about 600 linear feet of open‑ditch excavation and bank shaping, tree removal, placement of about 625 tons of riprap, woody‑vegetation spraying, seeding and fertilizing, two surface pipe replacements and contractor mobilization. He told the board, “the quote was right in line with our estimate” and recommended approval.

County staff reported previous positive experience with Corey Jurgens Construction and said the figure was within roughly $500 of the engineer’s estimate. A supervisor moved to accept the bid from Corey Jurgens Construction for $88,300 and the motion was seconded. The board recorded aye votes from Tim, Levi, Mister Clark, Mister Dillard and Bill and the chair confirmed the award.

ISG said it will provide construction administration and monitor the bank slopes and schedule. Sebenaler stated a substantial completion date of April 24, with woody‑vegetation spraying pushed to May 22 to accommodate crop and vegetation timing. Staff indicated they would begin contract paperwork to finalize the agreement and notify the contractor.
