The Louisa County board approved routine consent items and a telecom construction permit during its meeting.
The board approved the day's agenda and the minutes from Nov. 25. It then approved claims for Dec. 2 totaling $283,960; a board member noted the roads department spent roughly $109,000 on rock, which prompted brief discussion about costs. Unidentified Speaker 1 moved the claims approval and the motion carried by voice vote.
On a separate action, the board approved an application from Windstream (noted in the meeting as now owned by Kinetic) to construct along 6th Avenue (Main Street to Market Street in Verdones). Staff reported no objections and the application was moved, seconded, and approved by voice vote.
The board opened two bids for two bridge repair projects to be reviewed later: Iowa Bridge of Colbert submitted $141,120 and Grama Construction submitted $239,000. The board said it would review the bids and follow up by email; no contract award was made at the meeting.
The board also discussed its December meeting schedule and tentatively agreed to meet on Dec. 30 instead of the week of Dec. 23. The meeting adjourned after the final motion passed.
