YMCA seeks $20,000 continuation of county support after multi‑million-dollar campaign

"We originally requested a $100,000 from the county, to be spread out over 5 years, and that's, where today we're asking for 20,000 as a continuation of that 5 year request," the representative said. He described summer programs and day‑use numbers, reporting "just under 2,400 campers overall" this summer and "just under 165,000 people have walked through our doors and actually checked in and or bought a day pass" through November.
Supervisors asked a few operational questions (program fees, scholarships). A member of the board noted scholarships are available to offset participation fees and that YMCA programs serve youth countywide. The board did not take a formal vote on the $20,000 during the meeting.
