The Bremer County Board approved a minor plat for Don Lyle that adds approximately 2 acres for a semi turnaround in a floodplain area.
County planning staff explained the parcel contains an old barn foundation and that the added acreage is largely floodplain, not newly tilled soil. "No concerns," staff said during the presentation, and a motion to approve the minor plat was moved by Bob and seconded by Corey; the vote carried unanimously.
The board noted that minor plats must still comply with applicable subdivision and floodplain rules and that the county retains the authority to require any additional documentation if concerns arise.
