Bremer County officials approved Resolution 25-100, affirming and accepting the annual utilities taxation report that formalizes state-provided valuations for centrally valued utilities. Speaker 5 (staff) explained the process: the state supplies valuations for electric, gas, pipelines and railroads, and the county formalizes those values into a resolution for county acceptance and signatures.
Board members noted the county has no authority to change those valuations, which are set by the legislature and administered at the state level. The chair moved and board members approved the resolution by voice vote; staff were instructed to obtain required signatures on the summary and the supporting detail pages.
