At its Dec. 8 meeting the West Allis–West Milwaukee School Board approved routine consent items, adopted a preliminary 2026–27 budget calendar and voted to convene an executive session to review the district’s emergency operations plan and statutorily required school safety drill evaluations.
Consent agenda: The board moved to approve items 10.1 (minutes), 10.2 (employment summary) and 10.3 (supplemental contracts). The motion was seconded and passed on a voice vote; no member requested any item be separated for discussion.
Budget calendar: Business officer Mr. Norris presented a timeline for budget workshops and approvals, beginning with an enrollment-projection workshop on Jan. 12 and early-April and June milestones for preliminary and final levy work. The board moved to approve the 2026–27 preliminary budget calendar and the motion passed.
Executive session: The board voted to convene executive session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85 and Wisconsin Act 143 to review the district’s emergency operations plan and the written evaluations of school safety drills. The motion to move into executive session was seconded, roll call was taken (Miss Keiser excused) and the board recessed to set up the executive session.
