Wilson County commissioners on Dec. 15 approved a major amendment to the countyplan-unit-development (PUD) overlay and cleared at least one commercial rezoning while emphasizing that required infrastructure must be completed before development proceeds.
Christopher Lawless of the Wilson County Planning Office told commissioners the PUD amendment (filed as resolution 25-12-3) had been through planning and the planning-and-zoning committee and affects about 19 pages of the county zoning ordinance. Lawless said the county would "not allow [site] plans to be stamped or approved or pull a building permit for any sort of construction" until infrastructure work tied to the developments — including the realignment of McCreary Road — is completed.
