Village readies Parade of Lights, tree lighting and holiday lights contest; coat giveaway announced

Trustee DeChayon told the board that the village’s Parade of Lights and tree lighting will be held Sunday, Nov. 30; parade lineup begins at 4:30 p.m. and the parade starts at 5 p.m., with the tree lighting celebration immediately after at Fireman's Park.
DeChayon also announced a holiday lights decorating contest: judges will visit displays after 5 p.m. on either Saturday, Dec. 6 or Sunday, Dec. 7, and winners will be announced Monday, Dec. 8. Residents may register at Village Hall to have their address listed for judging.
Separately, Speaker 2 said the organization 'Peace' will run a coat giveaway this Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., offering adult coats and some children’s coats at the north entrance; speakers encouraged residents to refer people in need.
Planning, Building and Zoning was also noted to meet Thursday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. at Village Hall. These community events were presented as announcements and no formal board action was recorded in the transcript.
