GERS board approves minutes, treasury report and 2026 meeting calendar; executive session announced

The Government Employees Retirement System board approved routine governance business on Dec. 18, adopting earlier meeting minutes, accepting the treasurer's and investment reports and approving a 2026 meeting calendar after members resolved several scheduling conflicts.
Trustee Smith moved and Trustee Lager seconded approval of the Oct. 23 minutes; a motion to accept the Nov. 4 minutes was moved by Trustee Dorsey and seconded by Trustee Smith. Trustee Dorsey moved to accept the treasurer's report and Trustee Clough seconded; the board approved the treasurer's report by roll-call vote (trustees present recorded as voting yes; Trustee Russell absent). Trustee Dorsey moved to accept the investment officer's report and Trustee Clark seconded; that motion also passed by roll-call vote.
On the 2026 calendar, trustees discussed conflicts on August, June, November and December dates and proposed adjustments: moving the August meeting to Aug. 18, moving November to Nov. 17 and December to Dec. 15, and adjusting June scheduling to accommodate travel and the NAPPA/NAPA conference dates noted by counsel. After those adjustments a motion to adopt the calendar was moved and seconded and the board approved the calendar by roll-call. Following calendar approval the chair announced the meeting would recess into an executive session closed to the public for matters pertaining to trade secrets, commercial information and personal legal matters.
Votes recorded during the meeting show Trustee Russell absent for the key roll-call votes. The meeting recessed for executive session after brief seasonal greetings.
