Survey responses climb to 1,787; board schedules referendum debrief and to partner with WASB for superintendent evaluation

Mister Steinberg told the board the district’s community survey had grown substantially: as of 7:45 a.m., parents’ responses rose from 214 to 486, staff responses from 241 to 368 and community responses from 70 to 933, for a total of 1,787 responses. He said reminders would be sent and that an outside team would return on Dec. 8 to debrief the board on potential referendum questions for an anticipated April 7 ballot.
Separately, the board said it will partner with the Wisconsin Association of School Boards to conduct an external evaluation of Mister Steinbauer, an approach the board described as a minimal‑cost, external review to supplement internal evaluation processes.
Board members said they appreciated community engagement in survey nights and asked staff to continue outreach so the survey returns would better represent parents, staff and community views ahead of any referendum planning.
