Ashwaubenon board petitions Brown County for Bridge Aid for Ashwaubenon Street culvert

The Ashwaubenon Village Board on Dec. 16 authorized staff to petition Brown County for Bridge Aid funds to assist in replacing the Ashwaubenon Street culvert, east of Commodity Drive. Public works staff described the project as similar in scope to the recent Glory Road culvert work and said converting from steel to concrete should provide 75 to 100 years of service life in the village’s soils.
Staff noted the village will seek county federal/state funding and that the municipality’s share would be coordinated if Bridge Aid is approved. Trustees discussed material selection and agreed the concrete replacement would increase longevity. The board moved, seconded and approved the petition motion by voice vote.
Staff cautioned there is no guarantee of funding; the petition determines eligibility for possible county funding sources. The project remains subject to county review and final funding decisions.
