Staff highlighted a particular mower in current use that is a residential‑grade machine prone to repeated failures and said it would be replaced with a commercial‑grade unit.
Trustees asked about specific items and the rationale for commercial replacements. Staff said commercial mowers and plow upfitters are more durable for the village’s right‑of‑way work and that total lifecycle costs justify the replacement even though capital outlay is significant.
The motion to authorize staff to execute contracts with various vendors for the 2026–27 fleet equipment replacements in an amount not to exceed $2,040,500 passed by voice vote.
Staff will proceed with procurement strategies (state contract, Sourcewell, or competitive bidding) and execute vendor contracts under the approved cap.
