Indian River County adopted the Housing Choice Voucher program’s five‑year public housing agency (PHA) plan and administrative plan as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Housing Services Manager Stacy Bush told commissioners that the county administers 439 vouchers serving close to 800 individuals, including children, seniors, veterans and people with disabilities. Staff reported one public review comment was received but no formal recommendations were submitted. Bush said the county has requested an additional 10 vouchers for a veterans program and is awaiting HUD’s response; local letters of support were supplied by the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center and the local Continuum of Care.
The board opened the public hearing, received supportive comment from a resident who called for more services for veterans, and voted unanimously to adopt the resolution and administrative plan.
