"That $246,672.49 was basically because it was so late in the game," a staff member said as they walked through receipts and buyout accounting.
Supervisor (Speaker 3) moved to authorize repayment; Speaker 2 seconded and the board approved the motion by recorded voice/roll call. Staff said the repayment will allow the county to close out the grant files and proceed with final project closeout work.
The county finance staff said total buyouts were a little over $10 million, with FEMA covering about 75 percent and the remaining share covered by a mix of state, local match and CDBG dollars. The board also discussed an associated budget amendment to allow the payment to be made.
