Chickasaw County supervisors voted Nov. 24 to authorize the chair to sign an agreement terminating the Chickasaw Cedar Lake Improvement Council intergovernmental agreement. The termination must be acted on by the county conservation board and the City of Nashua as the next steps, staff said.
Supervisor Scott moved and Supervisor Travis seconded the motion to authorize the chair’s signature; the board approved the action by roll call 4-0 with two supervisors absent. A staff member said the county would be the first signatory and then the termination would be submitted to county conservation and Nashua for their proper actions.
The item was presented as an intergovernmental agreement termination rather than a new ordinance or resolution; staff noted prior meetings and the committee’s earlier decision to dissolve the council. The board did not discuss budgetary implications at length during the meeting and directed staff to forward the signed agreement to the affected entities.
