After an attorney‑client executive session on Dec. 15, the Finney County Board amended its agenda and voted to forward proposed updates to the county zoning regulations — including a new Article 36 and other redlines totaling a 10‑page package — to the planning commission for review and recommendation.
County counsel said the changes are intended to clarify existing provisions and add the new article; staff said the draft will be provided to the planning commission for its consideration and that, should the planning commission recommend approval, the revisions will return to the board for final action.
The board recorded no action taken during the executive session itself; commissioners moved and seconded the motion to send the proposed amendments to the planning commission and the motion carried. Staff indicated the planning commission's schedule and public notice process will govern the next steps.
