The presenter (Speaker 7) described the product as a membership rather than insurance, saying the plan covers any out-of-pocket costs if a member or household needs an air transport. The representative said the county could purchase slots for employees or allow payroll deduction; a household membership was quoted at $75 per year. Commissioners asked about territorial coverage, how the membership interacts with insurer claims and whether the county would subsidize enrollment. Speaker 7 said the membership would bill insurance first and cover any remaining balance so enrolled residents would not incur out-of-pocket helicopter bills.

Next steps: Commissioners agreed to add the matter to a future workshop to explore payroll deduction mechanics and whether the county should offer the benefit to employees. The board did not vote to purchase memberships at the meeting.
