During its Aug. 19 meeting the Marshall County Fiscal Court approved routine administrative actions, including personnel changes, transfers and payment of bills.
The court approved multiple personnel items announced by Speaker 4 (terminations, promotions, new hires and effective dates), formally hired Alex Purcell as a full‑time 9‑1‑1 dispatcher at $18/hour, and acknowledged receipt of the county clerk’s audit for the year ending Dec. 31, 2024 (no action required).
Financial actions approved included an appropriation transfer within a fund to cover a refund of an overpayment of property taxes, approval of budgeted bank transfers to subsidize several funds from the occupational tax, and authorization to pay the county’s bills. The court also voted to apply for PREA economic development funds (motion carried). The meeting concluded with a voice‑vote adjournment.
