Marshall County court approves transfers, surplus vehicle sales and lease renewal; Bryant Road awaiting FEMA approval

The court approved an appropriation transfer to increase the travel line and a transient tax transfer of $53,858.41 during the meeting. It also approved a bank transfer of $300,000 from an occupational tax subsidy into the road fund; those motions were moved and carried on the record.
Members authorized putting four older sheriff's vehicles up for auction on GovDeals and directed that sale proceeds be placed into the county motor vehicle repair line via a forthcoming budget amendment. The court discussed recent high repair costs and agreed a budget amendment will reflect the surplus revenue.
The court approved a lease renewal for the juvenile justice office in the Judicial Building under the same terms as the prior lease and authorized the chair to sign the agreement.
On infrastructure, the court briefly discussed Bryant Road. The road has been closed since February; county staff are awaiting written confirmation from FEMA that the project can proceed and be reimbursed. Staff member Darlene was identified as the weekly contact pursuing FEMA updates; officials said work could begin about a week to 10 days after receiving FEMA's written authorization.
