Marshall County Fiscal Court approves board appointments, new hires and personnel changes

At its Nov. 18 meeting the Marshall County Fiscal Court approved multiple personnel actions and board appointments.
The court appointed Bill Gibson to the Marshall County Extension District Board to fill the vacancy left by Jeff Futrell, with the term to expire Dec. 31, 2026. It also appointed Jeb Neff to replace Gina Donnelly on the Fair Dealing Olive Fire Department board, with a term to expire June 30, 2029. Both appointments were moved, seconded and carried.
On personnel, the court approved hiring Jason Oakley as a Class A truck driver in the road department to replace Blake Castile and named Crystal Denfitt as part-time interim parks director to help oversee an upcoming gala and other holiday events while a search is completed. Several wage adjustments and term changes from October were read into the record, including a part-time dispatch hire (Haley Gaskins, effective 10/07/2025 at $25/hour) and other listed wage adjustments and terminations; the court congratulated Babi Tekkenbrock on her retirement effective 10/31/2025.
Members discussed posting the parks director position and repeating the prior broad outreach and interview process to find a candidate comparable to the departing employee. The court indicated it will post the position immediately and complete the application process after the holiday events.
All personnel approvals were handled by motion and carried on the record.
