Public Works launches pump-station status dashboard; 10 of 84 stations currently on SCADA

Dylan said the parish currently has 84 pump stations, 10 of which are connected to SCADA and displayed on the dashboard; the SCADA feed uses a short delay of roughly 30 seconds to a minute. He said some electric pumps lack soft-start equipment and that parts have arrived for certain stations; those soft-starts are being prioritized and installed as funding and scheduling allow. He also said the on/off elevation can be added to the dashboard and agreed to request that display in a follow-up meeting.
Councilmembers asked whether the dashboard covered all pumps (answer: only those on SCADA), why some pumps were not auto-restarted without soft starts, and asked for plain-language guidance to residents on interpreting negative elevation readings. Dylan explained elevation readings are survey elevations commonly referenced to a vertical datum and offered to add on/off elevation markers to improve public understanding.
What to watch: Expansion of SCADA coverage and funding decisions to add soft-start controls; administrators noted three stations were close to substantial completion and could be added soon pending funding.
