The Lafourche Parish Council received a proclamation Oct. 28 designating Nov. 4–11, 2025 as Operation Green Light for Veterans.
Parish President Mitch O'Shaughnessy read the proclamation that urged residents and businesses to place green lights in windows to honor veterans and called attention to national statistics on service members’ transition challenges and suicide risk cited in the proclamation. "Lafourche Parish hereby declares November 2025 as a time to salute and honor the service and sacrifices of those transitioning from active service," the proclamation stated.
