Delcomb outlined additional work and funding activity: ongoing RFIs and pending USACE approvals for Cypress Bayou and Lasalle drainage improvements, efforts to secure FEMA funding (noting $3,000,000 has been purposed through FEMA and staff is pursuing an additional $2,000,000), engineering and bid activity for Petroleum Parkway, sheet‑pile work on Boxcar Road that is reportedly ahead of schedule, and progress toward reopening Delcom Road Bridge once engineering sign‑off is complete.
Council also reviewed Item 4 and Item 5, which would renew prepositioned disaster debris removal and monitoring contracts with Ceres Environmental Services Inc. and Thompson Consulting Services LLC, respectively; staff said prepositioned contracts have been effective during past hurricanes and the renewal will be considered in November.
Delcomb gave a status update on water consolidation: a BO company lease was signed and an upcoming water board meeting is expected to trigger an intergovernmental agreement and bidding for a well and water tower work.
Next steps: staff will present additional project schedules and procurement updates at future meetings, and the council will consider the formal change order and contract renewals as agenda items for approval.
