On Dec. 10, 2025, the Ascension Parish Board of Adjustments approved a rear-yard setback variance (zoning review ID PZ381325) for Lot 2A owned by Clinton and Tanya Wagasback, allowing an additional shop to be built closer to the rear property line.
Terry Hebert, who identified himself as representing the Wagasbacks, told the board the owner seeks a 10-foot rear setback instead of the required 20 feet so “he can build an additional shop right at his driveway.” Hebert said the rear of the lot contains a drainage ditch and that no septic system was present. A board member expressed standard drainage concerns; Hebert responded that utilities run in the road and the rear area is primarily land and drainage.
No members of the public signed up to speak. After brief questions about building dimensions and setbacks, Mr. Willie Robinson moved to approve the variance “as written.” Mr. Brian Kleber seconded. The board indicated “Aye” and the chair declared the motion passes.
The approval reduces the rear setback from 20 feet to 10 feet and allows the applicant to proceed with the shop as presented. The board did not record any conditions or restrictions on the approval in the transcript. The item concluded with no public comment and no further staff conditions noted.
