Grant County moves to end orange-bag drop-site program and halt resupply

"When the bags are gone at the retailers, just be done with it," a staff member said, describing a phased wind-down. Board members discussed choosing a date that lets retailers sell remaining stock; one commissioner proposed July 1 to allow retailers and users time to exhaust supplies.
The motion to stop resupply immediately and set the drop-site discontinuation for July 1 carried on voice vote. Staff will coordinate public notification, retailer communication and logistics with the hauler.
Next steps: county will notify the hauler and retailers, publish public information about the end of the program, and monitor remaining bag inventories through the transition.
