Board approves consolidated North Ambulance contract and quarterly billing change

Kevin Lee of North Ambulance told the board North covers roughly 90% of the county and recommended quarterly reporting and billing (rather than monthly) to reduce paperwork; the county attorney reviewed the agreement.
Commissioners asked about coverage gaps and whether North could expand service to areas currently served by other providers; Lee said expanding service area would require EMS office approval and additional analysis of response times and mileage. Commissioners who plan to visit Washington in February said they will pursue federal funding opportunities for ambulance and Medicare reimbursement concerns.
The board moved and approved the contract.
