Aitkin County to solicit bids for five‑year recycling contract

The board approved issuing an RFP in accordance with Minnesota Statutes §400.04; staff will advertise, notify licensed haulers, and include the planned scope of services in the RFP package. The board noted logistical challenges (single‑stream, canister locations and haul distances) and asked staff to consider Hill City and other sites in the RFP scope.
The RFP solicitation was approved by motion and will proceed to publication.
