Staff told the board they received a notice about an amendment to the Bison-to-Alexandria 345 kV transmission line, explaining some existing structures will be rebuilt and additional support structures added along the same right-of-way; a multi-year schedule of public meetings is expected through 2027.
Separately, commissioners discussed a local LRIP (Local Road Improvement Program) application from a city to reconstruct 1st Street SW and 2nd Avenue SW (including cul-de-sac and drainage improvements). Commissioners noted the town had applied previously and was denied, reviewed project scope and eligibility, and agreed to provide a county-level letter of support as the local government unit (LGU) administering LRIP applications.
The board approved sending the letter of support and directed staff to post meeting notices and circulate project documentation to interested parties.
