Otter Tail County commissioners approved a 4.5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for nonunion employees and adopted a countywide fee schedule at their Dec. 2 meeting.
County Administrator Nicole Hansen asked the board to approve "a nonunion 2026 cost of living adjustment in line with contracts that we do have settled, which is at 4 and a half percent." Commissioners moved and approved the COLA by voice vote; Hansen said four bargaining contracts are settled through 2027 with the same 4.5% COLA and seven contracts remain under negotiation.
Separately, staff presented a proposed countywide fee schedule previously reviewed by the operations committee; one minor change removed a small subdivision plat review from the highway fee. The board adopted the fee schedule as presented by voice vote.
