Waseca County commissioners elect and swear in 2025 chair and vice chair

The Waseca County Board of Commissioners on the morning of its organizational meeting elected Doug Christofferson as board chair for 2025 and confirmed Commissioner Walter as vice chair, then administered the oath to newly seated commissioners.
A commissioner nominated Doug Kristofferson for chair and Commissioner Milbrook moved the nomination with a second by Commissioner Multer; the motion carried on a voice vote. Following the election, Christofferson repeated the oath of office, swearing to support the constitutions of the United States and the state of Minnesota and to faithfully execute the duties of county commissioner for District 1.
The board then nominated and approved Commissioner Walter as vice chair for 2025; the motion was moved by Commissioner Krause and seconded by Commissioner Milbreth. Commissioners exchanged brief remarks about the workload and priorities for the coming year.
Also sworn in at the meeting was Brian Hargoth, who took the oath to serve as county commissioner for District 2.
The meeting then moved into routine business including approval of the agenda and minutes and a consent agenda of administrative items.
