At its Dec. 30 meeting, the Jackson County Board of Supervisors handled routine administrative business including approval of minutes and claims and several personnel actions.
The board approved the Dec. 23, 2025 board proceedings and authorized publication in the official newspapers. The auditor requested approval to issue warrants for the published claims listing totaling $263,289.12; the board moved, seconded and approved the request after brief commentary noting large line items in the engineer's office and library contributions.
The board accepted the resignation of Larry McDevitt from the Jackson County Conservation Board after 10 years of service and agreed to send a letter of appreciation. The board also reappointed incumbent Sarah Davenport to the Jackson County Board of Health for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2028.
Additionally, the board reappointed George Doherty, Judy Kuhn and Rosemary Knaible to the Pioneer Cemetery Commission for three‑year terms ending Dec. 31, 2028. The board approved appointments to three benefited fire district trustee positions — Richard Mayer (Subula), James Jacobs (Miles) and Aaron Johnson (Andrew) — each for three‑year terms to Dec. 31, 2028; the clerk will process those appointments per county practice.
Each action was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition in the transcript.
