The board authorized an agreement with Tyrell Technico Fireworks Incorporated for July 4 displays at $41,010 for 2026, $41,820 for 2027 and $43,075 for 2028, and separately approved a $20,000 deposit invoice for the 2026 display. The board also approved paying a $13,813 Monstrand Electric proposal to install a solar-powered school-zone sign on Pixie Highway; a trustee noted the cost may be reimbursable through insurance related to a prior light strike.
In ordinance business, trustees approved a minor language amendment to the municipal grocery tax ordinance after guidance from the Illinois Department of Revenue. The board then adopted ordinance 1445 setting the 2025/2026 tax levy at 2%.
