District officials report summer‑school expansion, $415,000 allocation and 127.35 high‑school credits recovered

The presenter said the district received an allocation of $415,000 to run summer programming that included a Park Early Kinder onboarding program, an elementary four‑week Parker program with academics and enrichment, Brookfield Middle School summer programming (the first time the district included seventh and eighth graders) and a high‑school credit‑recovery program. "We were allocated $415,000, to run summer school programming," the presenter said.

The district described staffing and partner support: the presentation listed approximately 141 staff (including licensed staff, classified staff and student workers) and several community partners who provided enrichment and field trips. The presenter reported roughly 127.35 credits were earned by high‑school students during the summer credit‑recovery program and highlighted early‑grade diagnostic improvements for sixth graders in math (geometry and numbers/operations) after summer intervention.

Trustees and student representatives asked about participant feedback and teacher recruitment; staff said teacher recruitment was strong during the summer and that the program mixed academic instruction with enrichment activities to keep students engaged. The presenter said the district intends to reapply for summer learning grant funds for the 2026 summer to plan earlier and expand partner involvement.
