Winneshiek County supervisors unanimously approved their consent agenda and confirmed several appointments to county boards and commissions on Jan. 3.
Among actions the board approved was the appointment of Mark Falditt to the First District Department of Correctional Services and an alternate, and the appointment of Steve Vandenbrink to the EMS Association Board. The board also approved Don Dugan, Wayne Crookeby and Toni Meyer for the Pioneer Cemetery Commission and named Kevin Lee, Elizabeth Ransom and Ashley Christensen to the Winneshiek County Historic Preservation Commission. Supervisors appointed Kristen Torresdale to the conservation board.
Board members noted longstanding service by outgoing Historic Preservation Commission member Roger Bergen, and discussed the importance of recruiting younger residents to commissions. All appointments were made by motion, second and unanimous vote. The consent agenda — which included minutes, claims and the monthly county report — also passed unanimously.
The board indicated that some appointments had been routed through the Board of Health or other reviewing bodies before final action. Several supervisors said staff will follow up with appointment paperwork and public notices as required.
The board adjourned after completing the scheduled appointments and remaining agenda items.
