An unidentified commissioner (speaker 2) moved to sign the addendum and asked that it be effective Nov. 1; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The commission discussed prorating the first month and the budget impact if the amendment remained in place for a full 12 months (roughly $24,000). "I would make the motion that we sign the addendum to employment agreement for Austin Parker, and then we'd start it first November," the mover said when presenting the item.
Speakers emphasized the addendum is intended as a short-term adjustment while Parker performs added duties and that the board will revisit the arrangement during the second quarter if the extra compensation continues to be needed. Commissioners confirmed there was budget capacity to cover the expense for the remainder of the current year and instructed staff to monitor the cost going forward.
