Rexburg council ratifies election results and swears in new police officer Philip Golden

The Rexburg City Council ratified the City of Rexburg general election results canvassed by the Madison County Board of Canvassers on Nov. 10, 2025 and conducted a swearing‑in ceremony for a new police employee.
Council moved to ratify the canvassed election results; following a motion and a second the council voted by voice and the chair announced the motion passed, making the results official.
The council also administered the oath of office to Philip Golden, who will join the Rexburg Police Department. City attorney Spencer Grama administered the oath. Golden spoke briefly to introduce himself and thanked the council and community for the opportunity to serve.
Earlier in the meeting the council presented a plaque and commemorative items to former council member Robert E. Chambers in recognition of his service from 01/05/2022 to 11/05/2025.
