Roosevelt County approved a motion authorizing the Chair to sign on the fair department's checking/premium account after Opportunity Bank changed routing numbers.
The Chair said the fair's account at Opportunity Bank in Culberson must be updated because the bank switched routing numbers. "We have to resign everything through DocuSign and get all the right account routing numbers together," the Chair said, explaining the administrative steps needed to update the account.
The Chair also noted that the premium account has historically been used for premium funds and more recently to accept credit-card payments for wristbands and contributions. He said the fair's checking account will be "the only checking account in Roosevelt County that's not controlled by the treasurer" and acknowledged past audit issues. The board agreed staff will draft policies and procedures to address audit compliance and bring those proposals to the next meeting.
The motion to authorize signature updates was approved by voice vote. No roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript. The board said the administrative updates will proceed through DocuSign and that staff will return with written policies for audit review.
