County staff opened a series of public bids, presented certified bid calculations and recommended actions on several road and park projects during the meeting.
For Parkers Point, staff announced a project budget of roughly $446,428 and opened bids; the low bid recorded was $325,629 from Midway Construction. For Morgantown Road Phase 1 the board recorded two bids and took both bids under advisement.
Engineering staff later presented verified bid results for Mortar Town Road Phase 1 and said APAC Mississippi was the low, responsive bidder at $1,115,154.70 after a competing bidder corrected an apparent bidding error. The board voted to award the Mortar Town Phase 1 contract to APAC pending final approvals.
Staff also reported smaller awards and procurement steps: Foster Mound 3-inch rail replacement received two quotes and the board approved an award to Broken Arrow Construction LLC for $25,000; staff asked members to sign program forms for Kingston Road improvements (2.3 miles, preliminary construction estimate ~$1.315 million) and approved several reimbursement/payment requests related to ongoing projects.
Board action: motions were made to take bids under advisement, to authorize program forms and to award verified contracts; votes carried as recorded in the meeting minutes.
