He said the department is holding some cash in reserve for an anticipated new 4,000‑gallon tender tanker expected in December and that the purchase process typically takes two years.
Terry said initial county commitment on the balance was over $83,000 but additional funding reduced Stark County’s share to just over $67,000, with Dunn County participating. The department is pursuing grants and other state aid options to reduce the local share further. The commission received the report and asked that staff continue to pursue grants and provide updates on funding needs and delivery timing.
